Baptisms

We often find that families ask for their children to be Baptised because they want what is best for them. Baptism is a way of asking God to be involved in a family's life so these guidelines are here to explain what Baptism is and what parts the children, parents, godparents and church play in it.

What is a Baptism?

Baptism is an outward sign of an inner change. Like a sign which points to something more important than the sign itself, Baptism points to three changes in a person's life. We ask God to help us: 1) To stop living for ourselves. 2) To start living for God. 3) To join the family of God's people, that is, the church.

Weddings

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.   Love never fails." 1 Corinthians chapter 13 verses 4-8

St. John's has always been a popular place to hold weddings.  If you would like to make enquiries about having your wedding here, please contact the Office on 5944 3862 (answer machine) and leave a message, also please read the guidelines at this link.
